Vengeance Is Mine by Harry James Krebs
Driven by a traumatic, violent event in his teenage years, Benjamin Tucker, a true crime author and amateur detective, is obsessed with solving crimes near his home turf of Holly Springs, North Carolina. When a series of decapitated female victims is found in neighboring communities, he is helplessly drawn in to the investigation. The hunt for the killer becomes personal and Tucker isn’t sure if he’s become the killer’s idol or his next victim.
I recently read this book. This story kept my interest from beginning to end and I couldn’t put it down. The main character Ben had some issues, but he still was on the right side of the law and ended up being the hero. The awful events of his past seemed to have molded future, causing him to become a writer on horrific deaths. His past also attracted a serial killer to jump head first into his present life. Ben was on a mission to remove the killer from anything and anyone connected to Ben’s future.
The book will keep you on the edge of your seat and as the story unfolds it will continue to intrigue you keep the book open. I hope this is a Detective series that will continue with the character Ben because I thoroughly enjoyed it. I gave the book 5 stars on GoodReads.
